Minggl changes the rules of the web. MySpace and Facebook users can now put hidden and unblockable content on their profile pages. Minggl also automates tedious social networking activities, like checking mail, logging in, moving content, and editing your profile. I created Minggl to help folks get more out of social networking, while providing new ways to protect personal details from predators or strangers.

This site was originally built to share pictures with the grandparents and I’ve now extended it to promote people, ideas & systems that have really enhanced my life. Since that time I’ve survived two near death experiences, graduated from the Hakomi Institute, and started a neglected BLOG. “Shallow, boring, and in complete denial”, (yes, that’s me) is my observations of the human condition & the resulting mismatch with our cultural institutions. I’ve also uploaded “Muddy Green Water"---an audio feed about my experiences while lost for 5 days in Kilauea Volcano’s National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. The BLOG & my “Adventures” page includes audio interviews, video clips, pictures and links to some of the many news stories.

For those who are into self-discovery & mindfulness, this site will help you find charities, survival schools, cutting edge mental health resources, Tantra schools and more.

My television debut was initially on GMA, the Today Show & Fox news. Later, the Discovery Channel created a re-enactment of the story which began airing on Saturday, March 11, 2006. It’s called “The Year’s Most Dangerous Survival Stories.” More recently (Sept 2006), Peter (see below) and I were invited to appear on the Montel Williams show and that program is scheduled to air November 16 (2pm in Austin).

On New Years Eve, December 31, 2003, I came home early (about 11:40pm) with a stomachache. I went to sleep at 12:30 and at 2 am, a drunk driver drove into my house and ran into me. I spent two days in intensive care, but due to my yoga and excellent conditioning (I was training for a marathon), I managed to recover quite quickly. Two months later, I enrolled in the two-year program at the Hakomi Institute in Boulder Colorado. One month after that, my 4 year old daughter was found to have a large tumor behind her right eye. Fortunately, it was found to be a very rare non-cancerous disease called Eosinophilic Granuloma (LCH), although she still had to undergo 6 months of chemotherapy. At last check, she appears to be in total remission and we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful Doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston!!!

Finally, in July of 2005, I was lost on the Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii and had to live by squeezing water out of moss for 5 days. I have an entire home video of the ordeal which has yet to be published but you can see much of the story on the Discovery Channel March 11, 2006 at 9pm EST; or read about it by Googling.

According to several of my closest friends, I’ve used up about 4 or 5 of my 9 lives and need to slow it down a bit. After the serious distress I caused my family and friends from the Volcano incident, I have been very careful to plan extra safety into my subsequent outings.

Here are some of the news stories below, and here is an audio stream of the ordeal entitled "Muddy Green Water"

I was the CEO of a Systems (software) Integration Company for about 10 years until April of 2001. I also funded, founded and sold a dot com business to another internet company in 2000! Since that time, I’ve done software architecture consulting, software sales, travel consulting and Hakomi Therapy training. I’ve also done a lot of traveling, snowboarding, yoga, motorcycling, boating and most importantly, ENVISIONING the life I want to create for myself.

I’m dogmatic about spending my time doing things for which I feel inspired and passionate. When I was lost on the volcano in Hawaii, I conceived of a new type of consumer tool for managing content, friends, profiles and privileges BETWEEN social networking sites. Since that time, I’ve been working to found this company called MiNGGL!! If you enjoy the online social networking & dating sites, but want more convenience and portability, you can contact me for an early invitation to the MiNGGL network. Be sure to disclose any affiliations you have with other Social Networking sites when you email me!!

      <dc:subject>Passions</dc:subject>

The most alive moments for me are those when my mind shifts, and I suddenly see something new that’s been right in front of me my whole life. Being out in the sun, wind, water or mountains is a close second. I love to travel, but with no particular schedule or deadline.

Laughing with my kids, boarding down a mountain, or cruising through the hill country on a brilliant day are the things that keep me sane no — strike that, more aware & lighthearted about my insanity.

I’m really love Vinyasa yoga, psychology, and exploring new techniques for developing emotional intelligence and self-awareness. I believe that all children pick up beliefs that are over-generalized and counter-productive for a passionate and free life. I practice a method of self-study called Hakomi that has helped me remember and transform many of the negative assumptions from childhood. Additionally, yoga has allowed me to release these anxieties from their chronic and habitual expression in my body. I’m more relaxed and flexible than I’ve been in my whole life and I feel younger and more alive than ever.

I was married for 10 years, divorced for 3 and have two amazing daughters, ages 6 & 8. We love swimming, singing, dancing and artwork. They also love inquiring about human nature and other paradoxes, as well as making up rhymes and songs.

Other things I adore: wakeboarding, dancing, camping, motorcycles and stimulating conversation. I love meeting new people and learning what makes them tick. Since I am still a bit of an adrenaline addict, I spend at least half my time hanging out with people who are wild & up for adventure.

One of my dreams is to develop ways for children to have access to the incredible gifts of freedom and serenity that my Hakomi teachers have shared with me. I’d like to help all children breach their assumed limitations of themselves.
